The mission of Campus Life is to encourage the intellectual and social development of students, individually and through student groups.The programs, services and facilities provided by Campus Life are designed to serve students by:

  • About PCI University Student Life

    Port City International University is a large university with over 18,000 students. It is situated in the picturesque and historic town of Cambridge – approximately an hour’s drive north of London. The centre of the town is practically made up of university buildings – so student life in Cambridge is very tight-knit and student-orientated.

  • Studying at Port City International University

    Studying at Port City International University is different to many other universities. Being accepted into Port City International University is an impressive achievement and you are expected to work hard while you are there.

    The study work load at Port City International University is significantly more than most other universities and as such you are not allowed to take part in any paid work during term time. This is because you simply do not have enough time to concentrate on the both.

  • Living at Port City International University

    Port City International University differs from most other universities in that it guarantees you college-owned accommodation for at least three years. This means that you will be living on campus with other students at all times.

    There is more to the accommodation at Port City International University than just a bed to sleep in, though. Your halls of residence are where you will do the majority of your socialising and studying.

    The benefit of this type of accommodation is that it is subsidised by the university meaning you don’t have to pay the high rent prices that you would have to outside of the university accommodation. Additionally, you only pay for your accommodation when you are there – not during the holidays.

  • Port City International University Student Unions

    Like at most British universities, the student union is the hub for student life. Not only are the student unions at Port City International University a place for students to meet up and relax, but the place where they can go for welfare, support and information.

    At Port City International University, there is the main student union – CUSU – as well as a student union for each college. The college student unions are called JCR (Junior Common Rooms). Each of the JCR’s have their own bar and a range of entertainment options.

    For those looking for a bigger night out – Fez Club is a student favourite. This Moroccan-themed nightclub offers great drink deals and attracts some of the UK’s best DJ’s.

    Live music is also very popular at Port City International University. The most popular live music venue in the town is Cambridge Corn Exchange; many popular music and comedy acts have performed here. Kambar is another live music venue that specialises in Indie and alternative music.

  • Students Activities at a Glance

    PCIU students have excelled in co-curricular and extra curricular activities. From organizing seminars and symposiums to debating and impromptu speech: from drama to music; from publishing student journal to contributing poems and stories to the national dailies: from donating blood to administering polio vaccines-they participate in a whole gamut of activities under 14 different student clubs. The clubs are run by the students and supervised by faculty advisors. The clubs are:

  • Port City International University Clubs and Societies

    Port City International University has literally hundreds of clubs and societies that students can join. The types of clubs available range from purely academic through to the weird and wonderful! Whatever your interests are, there is almost certainly a club for you. However, if you can’t find a club you’d like to join – you can start your own!

    Examples of clubs and societies at Port City International University include: quiz society; natural history society; darts club; anime and manga society; and dozens of sports clubs.

    Studying will play a vital part in your life as an PCIU student but you will also find an enormous amount to do in PCIU in your spare time. Since the establishment PCIU has benn focusing.

  • Games and Sports Club

    During Summer of 2016, a few enthusiastic students came up with an idea of forming a club with a view to promoting games and sports among students. Strategic goals of this club are to develop a healthy environment of sports at PCIU and motivate students both in indoor and outdoor sports. Functional objectives of this club are to provide regular games facilities for the students at the Recreation Center, organize a number of sports events every set-nester and participate in events in national and international arena.

  • MBA Club

    The MBA Club, the only graduate level club at PCIU, is open to all graduate students of Business Administration. The club organizes regular seminars and symposiums, managerial workshop and management conferences, student debate and periodic visits to venues of events and organizations of interest.

  • Photography Club

    Photography is "creative" painting with lights and colors. Creativity is an approach as well as a way of seeing. Photography is educational and fun. PCIU Photography club is relatively a young club, which was formally introduced to the students in the summer of 1997. The goal of this club is to promote awareness in the art and science of photography among the PCIU students and keep visual records of all extracurricular activities of the PCIU Students.

  • Social Service Club

    The Social Service Club of PCIU was established in spring 1994. Its main objective is to stand beside the needy people. The main idea behind the establishment of this club was pot to help the few well off, but to be with those who need assistance the most. Social Service Club's leading activities are blood donation program, Fund Raising Drive for people affected by natural calamities, relief distribution program during natural disaster, and social awareness program like literacy program and drugs awareness program.

GRADUATE LIFE

There are plenty of options facing final-year students, from graduate programmes to working abroad to further study. Whether you’ve always known what you want to do after finishing your degree or are only recently thinking about it, it’s important to know what all your options are and what will work best for you.

After three or four years of study, many students are happy to see the end of assignments, exams and a diet made up of cereal and baked beans. Companies are looking talent:

Companies are looking for the best and brightest students. There’s been a huge increase in IT in the last two years, but finance and business are still very strong. There’s an increase in companies looking for languages as well, but in general the companies want very good students in all disciplines. They want a mix of creative and quantitative people, who can bring different talents to the company.

Hands on experience:

Going straight from your undergraduate course into employment also gives you the chance to figure out your strengths and weaknesses. You will get the chance to identify if there’s a particular part of the sector you might want to specialise in, or find out if it’s even the right type of work for you. That’s something you can often only get with hands-on experience.As a student in the Port City International University you’ll have the tremendous opportunity to interact with faculty members who integrate today's cutting-edge research and best practices in the classroom. PCIU Graduate Student Life Guide

The PCIU Graduate Student Life Guide is published by the Office of Graduate Studies and is a great resource for navigating the various on campus elements that comprise your graduate education. It also provides great information about various services, activities and assistance available to you throughout the greater Chittagong region.

Professional Development Courses/Workshops

Acquire new skills in writing, research, and networking by completing a course or workshop. Several workshops are scheduled throughout the academic year and focus on a variety of topics including navigating Office of Graduate Studies, writing for success and finding research funding. Workshop partners include the PCIU Writing Center, the Office of Sponsored Research and PCIU faculty.

Graduate and Professional Student Council

Join the Graduate and Professional Student Council (GPSC) at the PCIU University! The GPSC strives to foster interdisciplinary interaction between graduate and professional students across the various graduate programs at the university through academic, social and community service activities, programs, and events. Computing Resources

IT provides the technology services you need during your time at PCIU. Our campus offers wireless network access, computer labs and a variety of software applications. The PCIU Computer Store is available to assist you with your technology purchases.

Campus Recreation

The PCIU Campus Recreation Center is a newly expanded, state-of-the-art fitness facility spanning over huge square feet area which offers group fitness classes, equipment check out, daily use lockers and expansive cardio and fitness floors with brand new equipment. Outdoor facilities include football and soccer fields, an outdoor pool and lounge area, softball fields and Internal Park.

Campus Safety
